Registered Medical Manager Course1009 Member This certification program is designed to increase and test the knowledge of individuals who hold or will hold management/leadership positions in a medical practice. Managers, Administrators, and other leaders are faced with an increasing array of financial, marketing, personnel management, and third-party compliance concerns that require more and more effective management of resources. It is no wonder why so many practices want their managers, administrators, and even physician-managers to learn the latest practice management techniques and obtain certification. Students who want to become certified as a Registered Medical Manager can take one of two paths: Test + Training or Test only. However, we recommend all students complete the self-directed RMM Certification Program Course, as the testing is comprehensive and includes questions on managing ever-changing regulatory issues (i.e., HIPAA). Upon course enrollment, students can discuss with a course advisor which path is best for them to take. Option 1: Test and Training Managers who are new to the position or do not possess a high-level of knowledge regarding finance and third-party compliance must complete the RMM Certification Program Course (total of 6 hours of CEU). The self-directed course includes instruction on: Strategic Planning for For-Profit Medical Practices Leadership Marketing Medical Practices Finance for Non-Financial Professionals Personnel Management Managing Third-Party Compliance. Option 2: Test Only Experienced managers who have a high-level of knowledge of the areas of instruction listed above may register for the RMM Certification Exam without first completing the RMM Certification Program Course. We recommend this pathway for only those individuals who already hold certifications that address the instruction areas included in the RMM Certification Program Courses. We find students, regardless of their experience level, who complete the self-directed RMM Certification Program Course are much more likely to pass the RMM Certification Exam. Individuals who pass the RMM Certification Exam become a Registered Medical Manager (RMM) for one year. To retain the RMM Certification, the certificant must be an active member in the ARHCP, obtain twelve (12) Continuing Education Credits from a credible provider of education in a topic related to medical practice management. The ARHCP membership dues cover transcript maintenance and re-certification. |
