 | | Medword Store Shopping Cart Help If you have never used an Internet Shopping Cart system before you shoul know they really are very simple to use. Medword's shopping cart system is extremely simple, fast, and "user friendly." The main thing to remember is that you can pretty well do anything you want as far as what you put in or delete from your cart. No personal information is retained, no sale occurs, and no transaction is recorded, until you actually submit an order complete with your payment information. Even up to the point where you have already entered your payment information, you can stop the transaction either simply by not clicking on the "Submit" or "Submit for Authorization" buttons, or by going to another page, or by even just closing your browser. Now that you are aware of this simple bit of information, you can enjoy looking around, adding items to your cart or deleting them at will. If you are not going to buy, but are simply putting items into your cart to see what they add up to, it is a good idea when you are ready to quit to just empty your cart. This is because your cart contents are stored for a very short time on our secure server in case you come back in an hour or so to review, add, or change your cart contents.
How safe is my personal and/or credit card information? Like you, we are very concerned about personal information and the need to keep it private. Don't forget, Medword is in the medical transcription business and treating information confidentially is second nature to us. We are very adamant about privacy at Medword. The Better Business Bureau Online logo at the bottom of this page means that a person from the BBBOnLine program visited the Medword site and scrutinized all aspects of the site for privacy and security-related matters. At the end of the lengthy process, the Medword site was accepted as a participant in the BBBOnLine Privacy Program. I can't see all my items on the invoice If there are options in drop-down menus you have to click on the down arrow and select the option you want. If there are features or options next to square checkboxes, you have to click inside the box to select that option. Selecting or checking-off items, features, or options tells the shopping program that you want that item added to your invoice. I have changed my mind and don't want some of the items in my cart If you change your mind about what you want to buy, simply click on either the "Delete" or "Remove" button while on the "View Cart" page. I don't want to remove everything in the cart, just some items on the invoice With our shopping cart system you must delete the whole invoice if you do not want a specific option. Once you delete the entire invoice from your cart, you are automatically returned to the last page you were on so it is a quick and simple matter to re-select what you do want added to your cart. What if I don't want to give my personal or business checking account information over the Internet? With our system, you simply choose "Mail-In Check or Money Order" as your form of payment when you are ready to submit the cart contents. You are then presented with an invoice that you can print and mail in with your form of payment. The only personal information you have given is your name, address, phone number and an e-mail address. This information is kept on our secure server until we receive your payment in our office. Once you arrive at your final invoice page, there are instructions on how and what to submit to complete the sale. What if I don't want to give my personal or business credit card information over the Internet? Simply choose "Phone-In Credit Card Details" as your form of payment. Once you arrive at your final invoice, there are instructions on how to submit your credit card information over the telephone to complete the sale. How safe is it to give my credit card and personal information over the Internet? It really is very safe - as long as you follow some simple rules whenever you buy on the Internet. We have a lot of information on this topic that you may want to read in a pop-up window by clicking here. I added some practice tapes to my cart and then I added a used transcriber machine, but I can't see them both in the cart. What's going on? Each "Department" in The Medword eStore represents a company whose products Medword sells. For this reason, purchases in different departments must be paid for in that department. For example, if you buy a some practice tapes in our HomEx Medical Department, and a home-study course in our Personal Edge department, you will have two separate shopping carts running. This is okay, and, in fact, you can be filling shopping carts in every department simultaneously if you wish, but when it comes time to pay for your purchases, each shopping cart has to be checked-out separately. Just click "View Cart" while on any one of any department's product pages and you will be brought to your cart for that department. What happens if I leave my shopping cart for a while with items in it? The secure server will hold your cart items for about an hour in case you come back to your cart. After that time your cart information is automatically and securely deleted. What if I go through the whole buying process, including making payment, and then change my mind about buying? If this happens you should contact us right away at our toll-free number (1-877-701-6868) to let us know. If the line is busy, you are shunted to a secure message system where you can also tell us you have changed your mind. Depending on the timing, we may be able to stop the transaction before your card is actually billed for the invoice. If it has already gone through, we can easily still stop the transaction but it may not appear on your very next statement as being deducted, depending on your card company and your card billing date. The important thing is that you can easily stop it.
What if I go through the whole process, including making payment, having the product(s) delivered, and then change my mind about wanting the product? In this case you would be bound by the return or refund policies of the company whose product(s) you bought.
